Standing Eight Count

It has been quite a while since we last blogged. Our precious Brooklyn got her first ear infection so we have had our hands full. She now has two her two bottom teeth. She is not crawling yet but seems to be on the verge of starting. She seems her happiest when standing, so she may just start walking:)
On her knees playing with her toys.

Reaching for daddy.

1, 2, 3....On the count of 3 we let go.

Every once in a while she will stand for a solid couple seconds.

Weekend of Sunshine

Spring isn't here yet, but we were blessed with some warm weather this week. We decided to enjoy some outdoor activities before it cools back down.

We took off to Shawnee Mission Park for a short hike and picnic. Brooklyn enjoyed being on Charlie's back during the first leg but seemed kind of bummed she didn't have a better view on the way back.

We pulled up underneath a picnic shelter to enjoy lunch. Brooklyn had some crackers, yogurt, and a little piece of Val's dill pickle. She didn't eat much pickle but it was fun to see her experience a new taste.

Back at home, there were a couple wagon rides this week. Brooklyn and Val enjoyed a stroll through the neighborhood during the week and Charlie joined in on the fun Saturday.

The three of us were thankful for the nice weather and can't wait until next time.

Lets Get It Started!

Brooklyn has always been a good eater and continues to excel in that department. We have introduced drinking out of a cup and eating with a training spoon. These are both done with close supervision and a little mess, but we were pleased on how well she did.
CHUG! CHUG!! CHUG!!!
Not quite but she give great effort. She holds on quite well too.

Brooklyn utilizing her training spoon. It's kind of like eating Fun Dip.

Super Bowl XLIII

Brooklyn was able to pull up in front of the TV for dinner in honor of the Super Bowl. I think she enjoyed the break from the dinner table. She snacked on a little bit of hot dog bun while mom and dad enjoyed little smokies.

Time to practice some skills.
UP FOR THE KICKOFF.

AHHHHHHHH BOOOOOOOM!!!

A big thanks to Grandpa for the football.

Here's Brooklyn and Val doing a little touchdown celebration for the Steelers. She didn't get to see the winner as Brooklyn only lasted through the middle of the second quarter.

That night we put her in her Chiefs gear and in the morning she woke up ready to get the new season underway. GRRRRR!!!

Home on the Range

We made a trip down to the farm this past weekend. The weather was nice enough to give us an opportunity to get outside and give Brooklyn a tour. This was her first time experiencing what the farm has to offer.

PaPa rounded up Sky to say hello. Brooklyn wasn't as excited as we thought she might be. She seems to be more entertained by our house cat Andy.

Now for some puppy time. PaPa helped out by holding them for Brooklyn. There were about six rambunctious puppies but they were a bit too much for her. Not quite big enough for all the jumping, barking, and licking.
We also took a trip to go see the cows but didn't get any pictures. Out of everything we saw, Brooklyn seemed to most intrigued by the cow's and their mooing.

Tickle Those Ivories!!

The past two weekends Brooklyn was fortunate enough to visit households with a piano. Who knows what the future holds for our little "star", but as of now, she seems to enjoy it.
Here is her first experience while visiting Zach and Claire.
And here's Brooklyn taking a turn on the piano at MeMa and PaPa's.
