And they called it puppy love

Another weekend, another road trip. This past weekend we headed to good old St. Louis. Charlie's college friend, Brad, was having a surprise 30th birthday party. We spent our first night at our friends Joe and Rachel's house. Brooklyn was pretty excited about their dog Buddy who showered her with kisses:)

The birthday boy Brad and his wife Sarah have a little one of their own, Trenton. Trenton is exactly one month older than Brooklyn. When Brooklyn met him, she immediately went in for the kill! The two of them got so close, we thought they were going to kiss! Above you can see them embracing each other.
They shared the blanket while playing with toys. Thanks to Trenton for sharing with Brooklyn.

Brooklyn and Trenton hanging out on the swings. After the party, we stayed the night with Brad and Sarah so the two munchkins got to hang out with each other some more. Who knows, Trenton could be our future son in law:)

Parks Galore!

Sunday we went to half the parks in Fayetteville, well not really but we did go to three different parks. Charlie ran 7 miles so we dropped him off at the first park and picked him up at the second one. The first park had a waterfall. Brooklyn seemed to enjoy looking at the water.
Off to the playground! Logan and Olivia took turns helping Brooklyn down the slide.

At our third park, we laid out the blanket and watched Logan and Steve fly their kite. Olivia's kite wasn't as successful so she had some time to hang out with Brooklyn before heading off to the playground.

Here are the kids after getting back home. Notice Logan and Olivia are passed out on the couch while Brooklyn was still going strong. :) Nothing is going to slow her down.

Baseball

Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of vi sting Charlie's sister and family down in Fayetteville, Arkansas. While down there we attended a Northwest Arkansas Naturals game. The Naturals are the AA team for the Kansas City Royals so Charlie especially enjoyed it. This was Brooklyn's first baseball game.
Showing some Kansas City pride:) Brooklyn did really well wearing her hat by keeping it on for the first few innings.

No Crackerjacks for Brooklyn, she ate some ham, cheerios and peas at the game.

In the outfield was a huge inflatable obstacle course and slide which Logan and Olivia went on. Here is Olivia flying down the slide. Logan is cheering her on at the bottom right.

With Logan and Olivia playing on the playground, Brooklyn wanted to get in on some slide action as well.
Overall, the baseball game was a success. A little chilly out but Brooklyn did awesome. This gives us some encouraging signs for taking Brooklyn out here in KC to a few games.

Baby Steps

Brooklyn has started taking her first steps with the aid of her walker. This week she has gained more interest in being on her feet and having us help her walk. The weekend in St. Louis and meeting her new friend Trenton helped out. He has his own walker and after getting home from our Memorial weekend trip, she has been eager to go. She took two unassisted steps too! It won't be long.

God Bless

Before she was born Brooklyn's great grandpa Rey gave her a bear that sings God Bless America. For months, she was scared of it but lately cannot get enough of it, always pointing at it. Enjoy the clip of Brooklyn of Brooklyn's attempt to say God Bless.

Little Helper

Brooklyn loves helping with the mail. The ads are her favorite as you can see from the video:)
