Animal Lover

We traveled half way across the country and what Brooklyn enjoyed most was her grandparents pets. She could not get enough of them!

She would grab Thunder's tail and walk around with him. She looked like she was walking him with a leash but it was his tail.
Brooklyn loved the dogs as well. Cognac is on the left and Daisy is on the right. I think she preferred Daisy. Cognac is a big dog and she got knocked down a time or two on accident by him.

She wore herself out with the dogs and passed out on Grandpa's lap.

Brooklyn mingled and met some new friends on our trip. Even when tired, she found her energy reserves if a pint size visitor came over.
Brooklyn sharing with Daphne. Daphne is 8 months old and a real cutie. She is the granddaughter of Val's godparents, Terri and Gordon.

Val's cousin Charity brought over her daughter Paige. Paige and Brooklyn got to play a bit before Brooklyn's bedtime.

See you next trip!

California Trip

Brooklyn and I spent the past week in California visiting my parents. They last saw her in June when they came out for Brooklyn's birthday. Those three months have brought big changes, such as her walking:)

Test riding her new rock and roll toy. It is a rocking toy that turns into a tricycle. Brooklyn will enjoy this for years to come when visiting her California grandparents.

Brooklyn discovered address label stickers and thought it was pretty funny to put them on Grandpa's face.

We made a trip to the aquarium. Not too many pictures were taken as Brooklyn was having a rough day.

We were treated to a delicious chorizo breakfast prepared by Brooklyn's Great Grandpa Rey. She really likes chorizo. Here is Brooklyn hanging out in Grandpa Rey's patio. Notice how clean it looks. He had just hand painted the tiles. 82 years and still going strong.

Hanging out with Grandma. We miss you already!

The Hat

While at the Labor Day parade Mema Love picked out a hat for Brooklyn. It has been on her ever since.

Actually she has not been wearing it all the time but we think she looks pretty darn cute in it. So we will occasionally put it on her around the house

Old Settlers Days

We went to go watch the parade for Old Settlers Days in Olathe. It is the longest parade in the state of Kansas :)

A church group was giving away water and ice pops. Brooklyn had never had one and enjoyed her first.

At the festival we hunted down the Grange Pup stand. Charlie had read an article about how good they were and we had to have one. Tasted just like a regular corndog even though the article claimed they were better. Brooklyn took a couple bites right off the stick. After this we enjoyed a funnel cake. Surprisingly Brooklyn didn't care for it too much.

Brooklyn likes to dance. She seemed to enjoy a church band's music as they went by on their float.

Labor Day

This past Labor Day Weekend we headed down to Charlie's parents. If you are going to go to Osceola, Labor Day weekend is a good time to go with the parade and rodeo going on.

Yee-Haw!

We also celebrated cousin Sophia's second birthday. It was a western themed party and Brooklyn had a blast. Great job Anna and Gary for throwing a fun party.

Brooklyn and Sophia hanging out in the corn pit. This is a lot cleaner than sand.

We love this picture of Sophia! She was having a blast chasing the bubbles.

Our cowgirl for the weekend, Brooklyn, posing with her stick horse and waiting to take the group shot.

The group shot of all the party animals. They were all so cute! We were amazed at how well the photo turned out with so many young kids. They are going to love this when they get older.
